Tomorrow, Scott Cairns, professor of English at MU will be speaking to the Christian Scholars Forum on the role of art and religion. His talk will take place in 136 Mumford Hall, and will start at noon and last for approximately one hour. Of note: The talk is in Mumford Hall, and not the usual Memorial Union meeting location. Cairns participated in the panel discussion at the Cherry Street Artisan recently. As previously mentioned, CSF, focuses on one particular focus or topic each month. This month the topic is the role of art in religion. Cairns offered many great insights into the role religion has played in his work as a poet at the Artisan.
